Taylor Residence

This architecturally-authentic, elegant home provides state-of-the-art modern features for entertaining guests and experiencing indoor/outdoor desert living.

This classic, Spanish revival desert home was designed for entertaining with modern amenities. The experience begins with the perception of arriving at a great resort destination with a motor court surrounded by a circular water trough welcoming guests to the home.

The home blends authentic traditional detailing with modern features, indoor/outdoor living and also incorporates energy-efficient systems. The Great Room was designed to represent the appearance of an elegant hotel lobby, reminiscent of old-world Spain, from which the rest of the home revolves. The fireplace is the centerpiece of the Great Room, designed and crafted from the visions of the magnificent Alfonzo Hotel in Sevilla, Spain. An intimate courtyard with an old-world Spanish water fountain is adjacent to the Great Room, acting as a passage to the guest suites of the home.

The Great Room is also directly accompanied by a Bar Lounge that is both modern with its water-wall highlighting the displayed shelves of liquor bottles, and old-world with a hand-crafted bar that can entertain a dozen guests.

The Kitchen area was designed with entertaining in mind with a full-scale Prep-Kitchen located behind the exposed Kitchen within the Great Room. The Dining Room is a unique, one-of-a-kind space, allowing for both extended exterior views and uncompromised intimacy. This is achieved with a Wine Cellar directly below the Dining Room, crafted from old world brick and modern glass cabinets that project upward through a glass floor connecting to the Dining Room and flowing into a classic barrel ceiling.

The spectacular exterior views are enhanced by slide-away glass walls that can be concealed completely, opening the dining experience to the outdoors. As the lot is pie-shaped, the home fans out into a stunning rear-view elevation with dramatic exterior views from a multitude of rooms. The rear-elevation incorporates multiple areas for entertaining and gathering such as the exterior Sky-Deck and covered indoor/outdoor living spaces surrounding the pool and fireplace, as well as a sunken fire-pit acting as an outdoor room.
